About the Event

This year's Flower Festival, for St Swithun's patronal day on 15th July, also falls between Keble Martin's birthday on 9th July, and his second wife Flora's on 16th! The theme draws on Keble Martin's legacy, with the Flower Arranging Team re-creating some natural habitats of wildflowers featured on the embroidered kneelers. There will be a display of the original designs of the kneelers, made in Keble Martin's memory by local women, and explaining the making of the kneelers themselves. There will also be a small exhibition about Keble Martin's life and work, together with a few surprises inspired by him ...
