Painting wildflowers and the natural environment

This is the third of four workshops on 1, 8, 15 and 22 July, which can be taken singly or together. 

Cost £40 per class, or £135 for all four.  Please reserve a place via the website, and pay on the day.  

Please bring your own materials and lunch, and be prepared to work out of doors.  Teas and coffee provided.

Danny Holmes Adams is a renowned painter of landscapes in the SW and of still life, often featuring flowers. His art celebrates the human response to the astonishing beauty and surprises of nature, and his paintings are known for their luminous expressive quality.  He is also highly regarded as a teacher, notably at the Dartmoor Arts Project summer-schools over nearly a decade.  

We feel very lucky that he is bringing his skill and experience to Woodbury, guiding both beginners and more experienced painters through heartfelt responses to the natural world, and its representation - in any medium of your choice.

We will first walk in the surrounding area, drawing and colour sketching, direct from the found subject.  We willl then take these studies and ideas as a starting point back to the studio to develop them into more of a creative response as a painting or drawing. This may become quite abstract or expressive, with gentle and responsive support from Danny to help explore and develop ideas.
