About the Event
First we'll walk outside to draw and colour sketch direct from the found subjects in nature. Then we'll take these studies and ideas back to the studio, as a starting point to evolve into a more creative response, as a painting or drawing. This may become quite abstract or expressive, with support from Danny to help participants explore and develop their own ideas.
Suitable for both beginners and more experienced painters.
Please bring your own materials and a portable easel if you wish to use one.
Danny is a contemporary artist, based in S Devon, whose paintings are known for their luminous expressive quality. His art celebrates the human response to the astonishing beauty and surprises of nature. He is known principally for his landscape oil-paintings, but also has a studio practice of still life and flower painting. He is an experienced tutor and wonderfully supportive facilitator - notably on each of the Dartmoor Arts Project's nine summer schools.
This is the first of four day-workshops - the other dates are Mondays 1, 8 and 15 July.
